The Polo Grounds Older Adult Center joined COTHOA in 2013. We strive to be a place where everyone feels welcome.

Services:
Annual BBQ: Held during the month of August.
Art: Art Instructor Mrs.Uniqua Simmons provides older adults with highly creative art-making activities which give a sense of joy, calms their minds, and reduces stress.
Bingo: Older adults gather to enjoy the game of Bingo, interacting and socializing with each other.
Birthdays: Older adults’ birthdays are celebrated every other month with music and cake.
Computer/Technology: Computer Instructor Mr. Michael Grattan teaches older adults the basics of technology to meet their needs for a more connected life via smart phones and tablets.
Exercise/Evidence based Sail: Designed to help older adults prevent and/or manage chronic diseases, adopt healthier lifestyles, and improve their health status.
Gardening: Older adults gather and plant a variety of plants and provide maintenance to the yard.
Health reading: Older adults are provided with a variety of health topics to help them understand and deal with any health issues they are going through. Older adults are also informed of current health issues and alerts.
Trips: Advisory Board Members set up trips to Walmart, Casinos, etc.
Virtual health promotional, educational, and recreational classes: Held daily via Zoom.
Virtual Online Activities: A variety of activities are provided to older adults such as YouTube exercises, movies, current events, and health lectures.
Directions:
Subway: Take the D train to the 155th Street Station. (Make a right exiting the station. By the bus stop you will see a passageway on your right, walk straight down.)
Bus: The M10 bus stops right in front of the center.
